I meet so many parents who are frustrated with their child–and I get it! Though we are all well-meaning, sometimes our kids do things that we just don’t understand.
My favorite example is parents who tell me that their kids just won’t put their clothes away in the hamper–they leave them on the bathroom floor!
I completely get this frustration. No one wants a bathroom floor full of dirty clothes. However, have you thought about how to make it easy on them to get their laundry at least off the floor?
Why not put a hamper in the laundry room?
Yes, it seems ridiculous. A simple solution. But it’s one that people just don’t think about.
Another example is a parent getting upset that their child’s room is full of garbage. You would not believe how often I get this complaint–yet, there are so few child rooms that have garbage cans!
How many of you have success with keeping up healthy habits when it’s easyfor you? I have learned lately that I eat way healthier when I have prepped meals in the fridge for the week. (I have also learned that that making these meals is not easy for me–so my amazing boyfriend cooks for me all day on Sundayfor the whole week.)
When people are supported and the right tools are in place, they are more successful in meeting their goals–whatever that goal may be.
